MAY 2009 BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
Every month I'll be bringing you a new business spotlight to help
you become acquainted with our local talent. You can do your part
in helping the local economy by selecting one of our advertisers to
fill a need in your life.
H & L BUILDERS
I want to begin this section by introducing you to my special friend,
Roy Hobbs of H & L Builders. In selecting a builder for a home I
wanted to build in 2002, I turned to him to see what he could do
for me.

I want to begin this section by introducing you to my special friend,
Roy Hobbs of H & L Builders. In selecting a builder for a home I
wanted to build in 2002, I turned to him to see what he could do
for me.
This being my first home, and the fact that I wanted to do some of the work myself, it was important
for me to find a builder who was flexible, affordable and dependable. Roy answered the call by
straightening out some bad design elements I had in my original plan, and building a home that was
more than I had expected.
Roy started H & L Builders in 1986 and has built, remodeled, and restored literally hundreds of
homes as well as commercial properties in and around Osceola County. Working with him is Project
Manager Phil Downs and Secretary Debbie Ashmore.
After the tornados in 1998, Roy and his team were able to help 18 families rebuild or repair their
homes or businesses. When hurricane Charley hit Osceola County in 2004, Roy and his team
assisted 87 residents. Their first priority in disasters is to make sure people are safe and to get the
damage repaired as quickly as possible.
Roy takes pride in his working crews using all local suppliers, support personnel, subcontractors and
professional firms whenever possible.
When it comes to choosing a builder, you just can't go wrong with H & L Builders. They're ready to
go to work for you and will be there when you need them.
